Early life
Diaz was born in San Diego, California, the daughter of Billie (née Early), an import-export agent, and Emilio Diaz (1950-2008), who worked for UNOCAL a California oil company as a Field Gauger and in the pipeline department for twenty plus years until he retired in 1998.[5][6] Her father was a second-generation Cuban American and her mother is of English, German and Cherokee Native American ancestry.[7][8][9][10] She has one older sister, Chimene Diaz, (born June 5, 1970, San Diego). She attended Long Beach Polytechnic High School at the same time as rapper Snoop Dogg.

At 16 she began her career as a fashion model. Diaz signed with top modeling agency Elite Model Management. After graduating from high school, she went to work in Japan and met video director Carlo de la Torre. On her return to the U.S., she moved in with him. For the next few years, her modeling took her around the world, working for contracts with major companies. She modelled for designers such as Calvin Klein and Levi's. She was featured on the cover of the July 1990 issue of Seventeen magazine.
At 21, Diaz auditioned for The Mask, even though she had no previous acting experience.[11] After obtaining the lead female role, she immediately started acting lessons. Over the next three years, she won roles in low-budget, independent films, such as The Last Supper, Feeling Minnesota, and She's the One. She then regained mainstream success with her roles in My Best Friend's Wedding and There's Something About Mary, a film for which she was nominated for a Golden Globe for in the category of Best Actress - Musical or Comedy. In 2001, she won nominations for Best Supporting Actress at the Golden Globes, the SAG Awards and the AFI Awards for Vanilla Sky, and also voiced Princess Fiona in Shrek, for which she earned $10 million. In 2003, Diaz received another Golden Globe nomination for Martin Scorsese's epic Gangs of New York, and became the third actress (after Wedding costar Julia Roberts and Reese Witherspoon) to earn $20 million for a role, receiving the sum for Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle. Diaz has publicly admitted that she has obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), is deeply germophobic and habitually rubs doorknobs so hard before opening doors to clean them that the original paint fades afterwards. She says she washes her hands and floors "many times" each day and uses her elbows to push open doors.[15] Diaz commented on her progress with the disorder on May 10, 2007, saying, "I think I've made my peace with it".[16]

Macpherson was born Eleanor Nancy Gow in Cronulla, New South Wales, the daughter of Peter Gow a former club president of Sydney rugby league club the Cronulla Sharks, but grew up in Killara, a suburb of Sydney and attended Killara High School.[2] She is the eldest of four children; the Australian celebrity Mimi Macpherson is her sister. Her parents divorced when she was fourteen, and her mother later married Neil MacPherson. MacPherson then changed her last name to her stepfather's. She studied law for one year at the University of Sydney.

At age 17, while on holiday in the United States, Macpherson was discovered by Francis Grill and signed to Click Model Management. Macpherson became an international star through her appearances in Elle magazine. She appeared in every issue for six straight years. During this time she married (at age 21) Elle creative manager Gilles Bensimon. Eventually she gained even more exposure through Sports Illustrated magazine's annual swimsuit issue. After she was signed to Click Model Management, Macpherson appeared for the first time in australian TV ads. Acting career
Macpherson made her movie debut playing an artist's model in the 1994 Sirens, which starred Hugh Grant, Sam Neill, Tara Fitzgerald, Kate Fischer and co-starred Portia de Rossi, as another model. Macpherson gained 9 kilograms (20 lbs.) and her breasts grew to 37D.[6] She surprised fans and critics by appearing unabashedly in numerous nude scenes, earning her top billing for the film above more established actors (in fact, all the female characters in the movie appeared nude at least once).

Macpherson launched her own lingerie line called "Intimates" in 1990. Since then, it became very successful in the United Kingdom and in her native Australia. Extortion attempt
On 12 July and 23 of 1997, William Ryan Holt and Michael Mischler burgled Macpherson's Los Angeles home while she was away on business in Chicago. The pair stole an estimated $100,000 worth of jewelery, $6,000 in cash and 15 nude photographs.
Shortly after the burglury, Macpherson was contacted by telephone, by the thief, who threatened to release the photos on the Internet if she did not give them $60,000. Macpherson called the police, who set up a sting operation. After the pair realized that law enforcement had been called, they increased their demand by an additional $20,000. The duo was arrested on 4 August 1997.
Mischler, 29, was charged with two counts of burglary and six counts of extortion. He eventually pled guilty to one count of attempted extortion and one count of burglary. He received a six year, eight month sentence.
Holt, 26, a former Air Force service member and a military inmate on parole, was charged with two counts of extortion. He eventually pled guilty to one count of extortion and was sentenced to one year in jail. After completing his sentence in the Macpherson case, he was returned to military custody where he served out the remainder of his military sentence at the United States Disciplinary Barracks at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas.
Personal life
Macpherson married Gilles Bensimon in 1985, but the couple divorced as Macpherson's career escalated in 1989. She was then rumoured to be dating comedian Norm Macdonald, around the time he was promoting the movie Dirty Work.
Macpherson has two sons with former long-term boyfriend and Swiss/French financier Arpad Busson: Arpad Flynn Alexander Busson (born 14 February 1998) and Aurelius Cy Andrea Busson (born 4 February 2003); known as Flynn and Cy respectively. The couple got engaged on the announcement of Macpherson's second pregnancy in August 2002. But Aurelius Cy's birth in February 2003 led to tensions, with Macpherson booking herself into Arizona's exclusive Meadows Institute [8], where she was treated for exhaustion and post natal depression[9][10]. Berry was born Maria Halle Berry, though her name was legally changed to Halle Maria Berry in 1971.[8] Berry's parents selected her middle name from Halle's Department Store, which was then a local landmark in her birthplace of Cleveland, Ohio.[9] Her mother, Judith Ann (née Hawkins),[10][11] is a Caucasian psychiatric nurse. Her father, Jerome Jesse Berry, is an African-American hospital attendant in the same psychiatric ward where her mother worked and later became a bus driver.[9][12] Berry's maternal grandmother, Nellie Dicken, was born in Sawley, Derbyshire, England, while her maternal grandfather, Earl Ellsworth Hawkins (an American), was born in Ohio.[13] Berry's parents divorced when she was four years old and she was subsequently raised by her mother.[9] Berry has said in published reports that she was estranged from her father since her childhood.[14][9]
Berry attended Bedford High School, and worked in the children's department at Higbee's Department store. She subsequently studied at Cuyahoga Community College. In the 1980s, she entered several beauty contests, winning Miss Teen All-American in 1985 and Miss Ohio USA in 1986.[2] Other entries included Miss USA (first runner-up in 1986 to Christy Fichtner of Texas, the second of the Texas Aces), and sixth place in Miss World 1986 (the winner being Trinidad and Tobago's Giselle Laronde). she was the first black American Miss World entrant.[15] In the Miss USA 1986 pageant interview competition, she said she hoped to become an entertainer or to have something to do with the media. In the late 1980s, Berry went to Illinois to pursue a modeling career as well as acting. One of her first acting projects was a television series for local cable by Gordon Lake Productions called Chicago Force. In 1989, Berry landed the role of Emily Franklin in the short-lived ABC television series Living Dolls (a spin-off of Who's the Boss?). She went on to have a recurring role on the long running serial Knots Landing. In 1992, Berry was cast as the love interest in the video for R. Kelly's seminal single, "Honey Love".[18]
Her breakthrough feature film role was in Spike Lee's Jungle Fever, in which she played a drug addict named Vivian.[9] Her first co-starring role was in the 1991 film Strictly Business. In 1992, Berry portrayed a career woman who falls for Eddie Murphy in the romantic comedy Boomerang. That same year, she caught the public's attention as a headstrong biracial slave in the TV adaptation of Queen: The Story of an American Family, based on the book by Alex Haley. Berry was in the live-action Flintstones movie as "Sharon Stone", the sultry secretary who seduced Fred Flintstone.[19]

Berry's graphic, nude love scene with a racist character played by co-star Billy Bob Thornton, was the subject of much media chatter and discussion among African-Americans. Many in the African-American community were critical of Berry for taking the part.[28] Berry responded: "I don't really see a reason to ever go that far again. That was a unique movie. That scene was special and pivotal and needed to be there, and it would be a really special script that would require something like that again."[29]
Berry asked for a higher fee for Revlon advertisements after winning Academy Award, and Ron Perleman, the cosmetics firms chief congratulated her, saying how happy he was that she modelled for his company. As Bond girl Jinx in the 2002 blockbuster Die Another Day, Berry famously recreated a scene from Dr. No, bursting from the surf to be greeted by James Bond, as Ursula Andress had 40 years earlier.[32] Lindy Hemming insisted that she wear a bikini and knife as an homage.[33] Berry has said of the scene: "It's splashy", "exciting", "sexy", "provocative" and "it will keep me still out there after winning an Oscar."[34] Berry said her role is "fashion-forward modern and the next step in the evolution of women in the Bond movies."[35] The bikini scene was shot in Cadiz, the location was reportedly cold and windy, and footage has been released of Berry wrapped in thick towels in between takes to avoid catching a chill.[36] According to a ITV news poll, Jinx was voted the fourth toughest girl on screen of all time.[37] Berry was hurt during filming when debris from a smoke grenade flew into her eye. In late 2003, she starred in the psychological thriller Gothika opposite Robert Downey Jr., in which she broke her arm. Downey was supposed to grab her arm and twist but twisted too hard. Berry has been married twice; her first marriage in 1992 to former baseball player David Justice, ended in divorce in 1996.[58] Justice played with the Atlanta Braves and experienced a measure of fame as the team rose to prominence in the early 1990s. The couple found it difficult to maintain their relationship while he was playing baseball and she was filming elsewhere. Berry has stated publicly that she was so disappointed after her breakup with Justice that she considered taking her own life,[59] but she could not bear the thought of her mother finding her body.[60]
Berry's second marriage was to musician Eric Benét. They met in 1997 and married in early 2001 on a beach in Santa Barbara.[61][62] Berry credited Benét with support after she was involved in a February 2000 car accident. She suffered a concussion and left the scene of the accident before the police arrived, resulting in a misdemeanor charge. Berry stated she felt "really good about the resolution"; she pled no contest, paid a fine and was placed on three years' probation.[63]
The couple, however, separated in 2003.[62] After the separation, Berry stated, "I want love, and I will find it, hopefully".[64] While married to Benét, Berry adopted his daughter, India.[62] The divorce was finalized in January 2005.[65] She was not entertaining thoughts of suicide as she had after splitting with Justice: "I would never, ever, ever think of doing that again."[66]
In November 2005, Berry began dating French-Canadian supermodel Gabriel Aubry, ten years her junior. The couple met at a Versace photoshoot.[67] After six months with Aubry, she stated in an interview, "I'm really happy in my personal life, which is a novelty to me. You know, I'm not the girl that has the best relationships".[68]
Berry told Extra that she plans to adopt children. "I will adopt if it doesn't happen for me naturally", she said. "I will definitely adopt. And I probably will adopt even if it does happen naturally".[64] Later she stated, "I never want to be married again. I guess you could say I have bad taste in men. But I no longer feel the need to be someone's wife. I don't feel like I need to be validated by being in a marriage".[69] Berry insists the couple's life is already complete without the need for a marriage and feels "more married than ever before."[70]
Berry said that it was her experience playing a mother in "Things We Lost In The Fire" that opened her mind to the possibility of motherhood.[71] After initially denying rumors, she confirmed in September 2007 that she was three months pregnant.[72] Berry hired security guards after receiving racist threats to her unborn baby from a stalker saying her child will be "cut into hundreds of pieces."[73] She stated "Gabriel is a wonderful person and I am just happy I've found someone really special to have a baby with."[74] She has stated that she hopes to have a second child right away.[75]
At age 41, Berry gave birth to a girl named Nahla Ariela Aubry on March 16, 2008 at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles.[7] Nahla means "honeybee" in Arabic; Ariela is Hebrew for "lion for God".[76] Berry spent $60,000 furnishing three nurseries for her baby.[77]

Berry has stated that the manner in which people have reacted to her is often the result of ignorance. Her own self-identification has been influenced by her mother. She is quoted as saying
"After having many talks with my mother about the issue, she reinforced what she had always taught me. She said that even though you are half black and half white, you will be discriminated against in this country as a black person. People will not know when they see you that you have a white mother unless you wear a sign on your forehead. And, even if they did, so many people believe that you have an ounce of black blood in you then you are black. So, therefore, I decided to let folks categorize me however they needed to.[78]"
While taping the Tonight Show with Jay Leno on October 19, 2007, Berry displayed a distorted image of her face, remarking: "Here's where I look like my Jewish cousin!"[79] During the editing of the program, the comment was obscured by a laugh track. The New York Post "Page Six" article that reported the story included Berry's reaction: "Berry, 41, who sounded like she was near tears, told Page Six last night: '"What happened was I was backstage before the show and I have three girls who are Jewish who work for me. We were going through pictures to see which ones looked silly, and one of my Jewish friends said [of the big-nose picture], 'That could be your Jewish cousin!' And I guess it was fresh in my mind, and it just came out of my mouth. But I didn't mean to offend anybody. I didn't. I didn't mean any harm. - and after the show I realized it could be seen as offensive, so I asked Jay to take it out, and he did.'"[80]

After leaving school in Rochester, Brook studied at the Italia Conti stage school in London for three years before becoming a professional model. Kelly attended The Thomas Aveling School in Warren Wood, Rochester, Kent. Her mother is cousin to well known Lady Margeret.
Model
Brook's modeling career began at 16 after winning a beauty competition, her early work was in a range of advertising campaigns, including for the new "Bravissimo" company that specializes in bras and lingerie for big-breasted women, and for Foster's beer. Brook is 5 feet (1.5 m), 8 inches (172.7 cm) tall, and her voluptuous figure caught the eye of the editorial team of the Daily Star tabloid, which began featuring her as a Page Three girl. Her vital statistics is 36DD-26-36.
She then appeared in a Pulp video Help the Aged with Huck Whitney of the cult band The Flaming Stars, in a slow dance sequence.
Brook's picture soon began appearing in other lad mags such as FHM (repeatedly landing in its list of the "100 Sexiest Women of the Year") and Loaded. She topped the 'FHM 100 Sexiest Women in the World 2005' list, which was said to have polled 15 million people. Brook has also done a large amount of commercial swimwear, sportswear, and hosiery modeling, and a limited amount of nude & semi-nude modeling. Some modeling work for Triumph Bras caused quite a stir because of specially-commissioned 50-foot (15 m) high billboards of Brook's bust.
In 2005, Brook posed for a ten-page, partially-nude black-and-white photo spread with the photographer David Bailey. The results were featured in the British design magazine Arena, the November 2005 issue.
In 2006, she introduced a range of her self-designed swimwear and lingerie at the New Look stores of the United Kingdom.
Also in 2006 she signed a contract, reported to be worth around £1m, to be the presenter of Unilever's Lynx body spray, known as Axe in the US and on continental Europe. She has appeared on billboards, in newspapers, and on-line as part of an advertising campaign.[1]

In 1997, still barely 18, Brook started getting work presenting youth television programmes on MTV, Granada Television, and the Trouble TV channel.
Brook had a breakthrough into mainstream hostessing in January 1999 when she was chosen to replace Denise van Outen as the female half of The Big Breakfast hosting team, alongside Johnny Vaughan. She decided to leave the show in July, 1999.[2]
She picked up roles presenting for MTV again. In 2005, she hosted the "reality" television programme Celebrity Love Island for ITV.
Actress
Kelly Brook has appeared in minor roles in a string of movies including Sorted and Ripper. She played the girlfriend of Clark Kent/Superman's best friend Lex Luthor in four episodes of Warner Bros.' Smallville during the show's first season (2001 - 2002). She has also completed assignments as a movie actress in Canada and made a short appearance as Lyle's girlfriend in the 2003 movie The Italian Job. In 2004 she played character Nikki Morris in the video game Need for Speed Underground 2, alongside Brooke Burke. Her first starring role was in School for Seduction, a 2004 film.
In 2005 she appeared in the Philippe Vidal film House of 9, a thriller about nine seemingly unconnected strangers captured and locked in a house together. The people are forced to compete against one another, in order to survive.
She recently starred in a Marple drama on ITV. She caused a minor controversy over her most recent film Survival Island (previously known as Three), in which she co-starred with then fiancé Billy Zane, when Brook and Zane requested her nude scenes be excised from the final cut, which the producers refused to do.
She will appear in the second series of Moving Wallpaper for ITV1.
Theatrical work
In December 2000 she played the exotic dancer Anya in the play "Eye Contact" at the Riverside Studios in Hammersmith, a role that gathered some tabloid publicity since the finale of the show involved her removing her upper garments (topless).[citation needed]
Strictly Come Dancing
In 2007 Brook participated in the celebrity dancing competition Strictly Come Dancing on BBC1, for which her professional ballroom dance partner was Brendan Cole. During the TV series, her father Kenneth Parsons died from cancer,[3] and although she initially decided to continue dancing, she soon withdrew from the competition.[4]
Reality TV judge
In 2008, Brook took Jennifer Ellison's place as one of the three judges on the second series of the reality TV programme Dirty Dancing:The time of your life,[5] broadcasting September 2008.
Personal life
During her long term relationship with Jason Statham, Brook met American actor Billy Zane while filming thriller Three in Greece in 2003, followed by her break up with Statham. Proposing to wed in Summer 2008 and having bought a farmhouse in Kent, Brook kept putting the date back after the death of her father in November 2007. The couple split in April 2008 but briefly got back together, before ending their relationship for good in August 2008.[6] She has since been pictured enjoying a string of dates with rugby player Danny Cipriani. On the 5th September 2008 on the British TV show Friday Night with Jonathan Ross Kelly Brooke admitted to being once again single and liking the freedom of it.
